Reclaim Forested Sites
MEMS has helped our clients reclaim over 300 forested sites throughout Alberta and British Columbia over the last ten years. This equates to over 363 ha or 896.6 football fields of land reclaimed back to forested land. Approximately 726,000 trees have been planted. These trees will produce approximately 4183 tons of oxygen per year and stores approximately 1569 tons of carbon per year.
The planting of the White Spruce helps return the area to correct forest type and reduce the non-native species that grow in a disturbed area.
